MBA Placements 2023 Trends
- High Salary Increase B-schools: IIM Indore, IIM Shillong, IIM Udaipur, IIFT, IIM Rohtak, TISS, XIMB, Masters Union, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi have recorded 11% to 20% increase in average salary this year
- Moderate Salary Increase B-schools: IIMs namely IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode along with other top B-schools including FMS Delhi, XLRI, SPJIMR, MDI, MICA have witnessed a YoY growth of 2 to 6 percent in average salary this year.
- New Entrants in Top 20 B-schools list: Masters Union, BITSoM, IIM Rohtak, XIM Bhubaneswar have entered the elite club of top 20 B-schools by placements this year with their high average salary registered in placement 2023. Interestingly, the placements 2023 for the first MBA batch at BITSoM Mumbai have surprised many top B-schools with average salary registered at Rs. 23.85 LPA, which is higher than many long-established top MBA colleges including IIMs.
- IPRS Audit Standard in IIMs & Other Top B-Schools: Top IIMs including IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Udaipur, Rohtak and other B-schools including XLRI, SIBM Pune, and SPJIMR Mumbai follow IPRS standard in releasing their salary data. While IIM Ahmedabad and Bangalore release the placement data after IPRS audit, other B-schools release the data immediately after completion of Placements and update the same after the audit of placement reports.

- New IIMs Growing Faster than Old IIMs: The table below reflects that YoY percentage increase in placements at New IIMs is faster than old IIMs. The average MBA salary 2023 in top 5 IIMs namely IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Kozhikode, has not increased as fast as in IIM Indore, Udaipur, Raipur, Rohtak and Shillong which are moving close to the average salary of IIM A,B,C,L.
